An example of co-engineering of which we are proud is the innovative pipe-drawing machine produced for Tenaris Group, unique in the world for capability and dimensions.
The design has been realized in collaboration between FERROCAM engineering team and Tenaris Dalmine’s technical direction.
The result is the construction and the installation of a “turnkey” complete automatic solution that produces drawn pipes up to a diameter of 555 mm and length of 17,5 m with a pulling force of 450 metric tons (expandible to 600 metric tons). In this configuration, the electric power installed is 1,2 MW.
The machine (including its handling system) covers a length of 100 m and it was completely realized internally in our Bienno workshop. The commissioning and start-up were operated by specialized technicians.
The final result represents the top of technology and productivity.
FERROCAM can deal with both basic and advanced studies to be completed and realized.
Other advanced designs include the automatic handling equipment installed in Tenaris Dalmine in 2014. Through n°4 pipe manipulators of big dimensions equipped with a laser view system, the solution is able to lift and move pipes up to a diameter of 711 mm, length up to 13,6 m, and weight up to 5 metric tons among the various workstations.
The resized machine produced by FERROCAM for the Colombian company Tenaris Tubo Caribe is another example of a successful co-engineered project.
